Instructors

Information Mapping's instructors are professional and experienced trainers who are knowledgeable in their subject matter and its practical applications. All instructors participate in a rigorous training process for each Information Mapping workshop that they are certified to teach. Because we have a large number of dedicated instructors located throughout the United States, we have a great deal of flexibility when selecting training dates at a location that is convenient and cost effective for you.

Lucia Berte
Lucia is currently a consultant on quality system implementation in the health care field, preparing and presenting training programs on quality models in clinical systems, laboratory medicine, and blood banking. She presents training programs in preparing written policy, process, and procedure documents for clinical systems and quality manuals.

Lucia has many years of experience as a laboratory quality assurance director and transfusion service manager.  She has extensive experience as a workshop presenter on topics in laboratory quality management, quality systems, document development, and training. She has authored numerous articles, chapters, and books and has been a frequent teleconference speaker.

Lucia is registered as a medical technologist, a specialist in blood banking, and diplomate in laboratory management by the Board of Registry of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), and is certified as a quality auditor and quality manager by the American Society for Quality. She serves as a volunteer member of working committees of the AABB, the CLMA, the CLSI, and the ASCP.

Dedee Bowers
Dedee has 30 years of management training experience in a variety of business environments, including working as an independent consultant and designing and delivering custom training for diverse clients. For four years she was the Manager of Certification for an international training and development company charged with developing an internal/external certification program.

Dedee has presented at ASTD's National Conference and at other regional and national conferences. She has a Bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina.

Rosemary DiDio Brehm
Rosemary is a training and documentation consultant who specializes in the instructional design, development, and facilitation of effective Management, Communication, and Operational training courses.

She has over 20 years of design and development experience and has been actively using the Information Mapping methodology since 1986. She has delivered over 100 Information Mapping seminars and has been involved in the Instructor Institutes. She is able to blend the instructional design principles with the Mapping principles to create effective reference-based training programs.

Rosemary has managed the training function for a regional retailer where she introduced the Information Mapping methodology. She has also worked with the banking and financial investment, technology, communications, restaurant, and healthcare industries.

In addition, she teaches Instructional Design and Train the Trainer courses for both experienced trainers and those who are just starting out in the training field.

Lisa Cole 
Lisa has 18 years of experience developing and delivering customized training courses and programs. She has extensive experience training in professional skills, business writing, and career counseling. Lisa has proven her success in delivering educational programs throughout the U.S. and abroad, including Train-the-Trainer. Her experience spans all types of industries and personnel levels.

Lisa has a bachelor's degree from the University of Vermont, attended the MBA program at New Hampshire College, and has earned certifications to teach a wide array of courses. 

Katherine Fast
Katherine has over 30 years of work experience. For the past 12 years, she has taught Information Mapping workshops, as a Certifying Instructor, to companies in a variety of industries around the world. In addition, she contributes to Information Mapping's Research and Development efforts and is a Designer for the Professional Services Division.

Katherine has a diverse background. Her former positions include vice president of a professional search firm and a marketing research firm, a professional graphologist, a marketing research consultant, and an educational consultant. Her many publications and presentations reflect her distinct background. She has a BA from Oberlin College and a M.Ed. from Cambridge College.

Barbara M. Greenstein
Barbara Greenstein joined Information Mapping in 1999 as an instructor. She is a Performance Improvement Specialist. By identifying issues and opportunities for improvement, she helps organizations large and small creatively meet their planned goals.

Barbara is highly regarded for her facilitation and instructional design skills. With over 20 years of experience in the training and development field, her mission is to help clients put the systems in place that will help them manage effectively in today’s changing business environment while ensuring optimal performance and job satisfaction for all employees. 

Barbara’s corporate experience included training and instructional design for Burger King Corporation, Pizza Hut, Inc., and Electronic Data Systems (EDS). She completed her undergraduate work in Consumer Affairs and Management at Florida International University and received an M.A. in Human Resource Development, as well as graduate certificates in Instructional Design and Total Quality Management (TQM), from Marymount University. 
Barbara is a Certified Performance Technologist (CPT), a certification awarded through the International Society of Performance Improvement (ISPI) and the American Society for Training & Development (ASTD).   Barbara is Past President of the San Diego Chapter of ASTD and an active member of ISPI. 

Jeanne Hillson
A certifying instructor at Information Mapping, Jeanne has over 15 years of experience designing and delivering training to diverse business, academic, and human-service audiences. Jeanne has designed generic and customized courses in diverse areas such as team building, career development, and creative thinking and problem solving. She is a former technical writer and editor, and maintains a social work license in Massachusetts.

Jeanne holds an M.Ed. in Management from Cambridge College and a Bachelor's degree in English from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

Rose Johnston
Rose is a certifying instructor who never stops "walking her talk." In addition to teaching, she coaches others on how to use the Information Mapping method in both expected and unexpected ways.

She uses the Information Mapping method to deliver better project plans, technical requirements, templates, bylaws, certification standards, process designs, contracts, cookbooks, newsletters, travelogues, code comments, and even room designs. She provides consulting services and works internationally.  Rose honed her skills during a long career in high-tech. She has taught the Informaiton Mapping method since 1991. Today, her focus includes two additional areas: project management competencies and business development capabilities.

She is a member of the Association for Proposal Management Professionals (APMP); the American Society for the Advancement of Project Management (asapm®); and the International Project Management Association (IPMA). She is also a certifying instructor for ProjectExperts®, Inc., and an appraiser for the Business Development Institute International. She has a BS/BA in Information Systems from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs and has taken graduate-level courses in instructional theory and design.
 

Christina Mangano
Christina has over 20 years of experience in the areas of education, learning styles, and curriculum design and development. Christina joined Information Mapping in 1999, and has facilitated classroom seminars, blended learning programs, and workshops across multiple industries and functions.

Christina is well known for her enthusiasm and clarity in the classroom, as well as her ability to present new concepts in an understandable and meaningful way. Clients value her expertise, flexibility, collaborative relationship skills, and ability to deliver results.

Christina is a graduate of Boston College. She holds a Bachelor and Master’s degree in Education, English, and Educational Leadership.
 
Cathy Nairne 
Cathy Nairne, Manager, Learning Programs,graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Business Education. She also holds an Ed.S in Adult Education-Leadership & Development from Georgia State University.

Cathy joined Information Mapping in 1992 as an Instructor after having taught at the secondary and post-secondary level and working as a product manager for Burroughs/Unisys. As an Information Mapping Instructor, Cathy delivered the traditional seminars and was the lead instructor for IMI's Web based seminars. In 1995, Cathy began her present position in which she leads an instructor staff of 25 professionals and oversees the design and development of new Information Mapping seminars and products. 

Al Niec
Al P. Niec, Ed. D. has been helping businesses improve their profitability for over 25 years by writing procedures and creating training programs that increase productivity. He has managed international teams to develop critical business programs in the areas of distribution, finance, management, manufacturing, marketing, and sales. He has taught Train-the Trainer classes to business managers in Europe, South and North Americas, and Asia. Some of the companies Dr. Niec has worked with are Spiegel's, Ernst & Young, McDonald's, and The Coca-Cola Company.

Al has written large complex procedures using the Information Mapping process and principles. One international company was able to determine which products made money and which lost money using the procedure How to Determine the Actual Cost of Products Using Activity Based Costing. He enjoys teaching IMI courses and has consistently received outstanding participant evaluations.

Al holds a BS degree in Mathematics from Loyola University, Chicago, a MS degree in Counseling and Guidance from Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago and a Doctorate degree in Educational Psychology from Oklahoma State University, Stillwater. He is a licensed clinical psychologist in the State of Illinois.
 
Linda L. Odum
Linda has 25 years of experience in education and training ranging from the traditional university setting to the non-traditional corporate/government university without walls. She has combined her skills in analysis, writing, editing, and research to successfully provide consulting services in workshop and seminar development for both for corporate and non-profit enterprises.

Dick O'Neal
Having over 30 years of experience, Dick is a results-oriented individual, who is an expert in Instructional Systems Design (ISD) and training methodologies. With in-depth, hands on experience at all levels of Total Quality Management (TQM), Dick specializes in oral and written communications and staff and operational management skills. He is also a certified Train-the-Trainer Instructor.

He has a Bachelor's Degree in education from the University of Central Arkansas and a Masters Degree from the University of Arkansas.
  
Sharon Paradero
Sharon Paredero has spent most of her career in the field of curriculum development, training delivery, and behavioral sciences. As a former Course Developer, Project Manager, Trainer, and Manager of Training Development and Delivery, Sharon has extensive knowledge and experience with all facets of training.

Sharon has been a Trainer and Consultant with Information Mapping for over 15 years. In addition to delivering a variety of Information Mapping courses throughout the United States, Canada, and abroad, Sharon conducts the Information Mapping Instructor Institute and certifies both Information Mapping and Client Instructors. Sharon has designed, developed and delivered many training courses and conference presentations including a Humor Workshop and a Problem Solving Workshop. She also was the editor for Training News and Views, a semiannual publication for Training Professionals.

Gerard Paradis
Gerard has over 20 years of experience teaching Information Mapping seminars to diverse businesses and industries. He has taught Mapping application workshops in 41 states and over 14 countries. He has specialized in developing and delivering customized client-centered training classes in the areas of general documentation, procedure and process documentation, ISO documentation, developing proposals, and business communications.

Additionally, Gerard has developed Instructor Certification and Train the Trainer Programs. He is the author of two books on Demystifying ISO 9000.

Angelo Presicci
Angelo has trained and consulted in the corporate, high-tech, government, and non-profit areas for more than 20 years. He has superior analytical, organizational, and feedback/counseling skills. His business and technical writing seminars and workshops are thought-provoking and entertaining in a supportive learning environment, and are designed and conducted to ensure transfer of skills and knowledge to the workplace. He is certified for multiple curriculum presentations and delivery.

Angelo has also collaborated on the design of Robert Horn's Visual Thinking and Visual Communication workshop, including certifying instructors with Information Mapping Mexico. He is a fiction writer and sometime Middle School teacher, a graduate from UCLA, US Army veteran and former Peace Corps volunteer, and speaks French and Italian.
 
Stuart Rubinow
Stu has designed and delivered standard and customized training courses since 1989. Since joining Information Mapping in 2000 he has taught a variety of Mapping courses throughout the United States, in Canada, and abroad. He is the primary instructor for one of Information Mapping’s online courses, and has also certified other Mapping instructors.

When not teaching, he works with the R&D group in developing new seminars and revising and updating existing ones.

Trained originally as a clinical psychologist, Stu had a first career in hospital and industrial mental health programs. He then spent 15 years as a career development consultant and coach to managers and executives for greater effectiveness in their work.

Stu’s B.A. is from Oberlin College, and he holds M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from Clark University.

Helen Shoup
Helen has been teaching Information Mapping workshops since 1993 with experience in working with many companies and different industries in both the United States and Europe. She specializes in making the courses applicable to the industry with examples from experience with creating documents for that industry. She developed one course for an IMI client; then she taught the course and trained employees to teach the course. She has also developed documentation for several IMI projects.
 
Joyce Southward
Joyce has worked over 20 years in the area of education and information design. As a trainer and consultant for Information Mapping since 1991 she has piloted new courses, certified new instructors, assisted in the development of new workshops and taught the Mapping curriculum throughout the United States and internationally.

Specializing in information architecture and the presentation of information on the web, she facilitates Intranet teams in the organization of information for Web sites and the design of information for online.

Prior to joining Information Mapping Joyce had a successful career as a teacher, curriculum developer and educational software analyst for the State of California. Joyce holds a BA from the University of California, Los Angeles and a California State Teaching Credential.
