Making Web Content Work
Gain the skills you need to do your job without leaving your desk! This eight-week, instructor-led, interactive e-learning program is designed to help writers and designers organize and present content effectively on the Web.
By analyzing the audience and applying Information Mapping's research-based principles to reorganize existing and new content, participants can make Web content user-focused. Participants will learn to apply linking strategies that are logical for the user and help to reduce the amount of time users spend searching for information.
Note: This e-learning workshop focuses on organizing and presenting content effectively on the Web. It does not address HTML, scripting, conversion, the use of development tools, or other technical skills.
Learning Objectives
After completing this e-learning program, participants will be able to
- plan the content of a Web site using six tasks
- understand options for organizing the content of a Web site to support site purpose and user needs
- design a navigation plan for a Web site
- analyze page content using six information types
- organize content into short, modular units and labeling for the Web, and
- present content on the Web to take advantage of the full capability of the Web.
