Sales Manager

Sales Manager
The Sales Manager is the driving force behind sales and business development. In concert with developing, planning and directing activities of the Account Executives and Inside Sales Team this position is responsible for achieving profit and revenue goals of the Learning Solutions Business Unit (LSBU).

Essential responsibilities include:

Sales Activity and Pipeline

  • Drive sales activity and focus to ensure the Account Executives and Inside Sales manage productivity, performance and achieve profitable revenue
  • Assist with setting sales metrics, quotas and monitor individual and team performance against goals
  • Help Account Executives find creative solutions to client requests and needs and assist in the preparation of client proposals
  • Review sales forecasts prepared by the Account Executives
  • Report weekly and monthly summaries of sales activity and results as they relate against sales metrics
  • Oversee the preparation of major accounts penetration plans

Business Development

  • Develop and implement the learning solutions sales activities to support defined marketing initiatives
  • Integrate products and services as a solution for business initiatives e.g. Six Sigma, Web, CRM systems
  • Develop and implement effective lead generation and new business development strategies
  • Through major account development pass leads to Corporate Sales
  • Provide feedback on customer and market needs and the suitability of current and future products and services
  • Work with Marketing to determine attendance at tradeshows, conferences, and professional organizations events
  • Work with Account Executives to determine attendance at local professional chapter meetings and events

People and Administration

  • Manage and motivate the sales team
  • Manage individual performances and implement appropriate action
  • Prepare sales, revenue, pipeline and status reports
  • Oversee and maintain sales activity, opportunities, and pipeline
  • Assist with preparation of monthly commission reports
  • Approve and submit expense report and timesheets
  • Manage and approve sales expenses

Minimum experience and desired attributes include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related discipline
  • Five years sales/sales management experience, preferably in the services arena
  • Five years business and people management experience
  • Ability to motivate and lead a geographically dispersed sales team
  • Client management experience
  • Problem solving and thinking outside-the-box skills
  • Demonstrable experience as a successful sales account manager
  • Experience selling to senior management in Fortune 1000 companies
  • Professional interpersonal, written and verbal skills commensurate with position
  • Proficient computer skills especially Excel
  • Familiar with CRM or sales force automation application
  • Excellent presentation skills up to the senior management level

Instructional Designer
We are seeking an experienced instructional designer familiar with the Information Mapping method. This is a contract position approximately four months in duration. Work to be conducted on client site in Chicago, Illinois.

Content Developer
We are seeking an experienced content developer familiar with the Information Mapping method. This is a contract position approximately four months in duration. Work to be conducted on client site in Chicago, Illinois.
