IMI Launches New e-Workshop Series

by Cynthia Whitty, Public Relations Specialist

IMI e-workshops make communication skills training
easily accessible to busy professionals.

Information Mapping, Inc. (IMI) recently launched, a new series of interactive, instructor-led online workshops. The e-workshop series makes high-quality training in communications skills more accessible to busy professionals through short, focused, online training sessions that they can attend from their desks. E-workshops are only 2½ hours long and will include online instruction, interactivity, small class sizes, and the opportunity to complete individual exercises or activities.

Who Should Attend
The e-workshops series is designed for business, sales, and marketing professionals; program managers; technical writers; and anyone who wants to write results-getting business and technical communications, such as policies, procedures, training materials, proposals, reports, and e-mails.

IMI e-Workshop Series
The first three e-workshops in this new series include Making E-mail Work!™, Making Web Content Work!™, and Making Procedures Work!™.

Making E-mail Work!™ provides participants with practical tips and skills for writing concise, reader-focused e-mails that will get opened, read, and acted upon.

Making Web Content Work!™ teaches participants six tasks for planning Web content, a set of design principles for organizing and labeling Web content into small, readable units, and strategies for ensuring effective site structure and navigation.

Making Procedures Work!™ focuses on helping participants turn ineffective or nonexistent procedures into clear communications that are user-focused, task-oriented, accessible, and easy to follow and maintain.

Deborah Kenny, Vice President and General Manager of IMI’s Learning Solutions, says “Ineffective communications lead to mistakes, inefficiencies, and performance errors, poor product quality, failed audits, fines for non-compliance, swamped help desks, high stress, and low morale. IMI’s learning programs help individuals and organizations improve performance and solve business problems that result from ineffective, confusing, and inaccessible communications and documentation.”

According to Kenny, “We have found that, while multi-day classroom training is still the ideal solution for many organizations, professionals don’t always have the time to attend this type of training. Our new e-workshop series will allow busy professionals to access this training a little bit at a time, in focused online sessions that they can easily fit into their day.”
