Employee Profile: Kim Murphy

By Jason Murtagh, Marketing Coordinator

Despite having only worked for the company for just over a year, Kim Murphy has quickly become an integral part of the Information Mapping Inc. field sales team. At the root of her success is her extensive experience in identifying the types of communication problems encountered by business professionals and her desire to help them overcome these challenges by communicating critical information more clearly and effectively.

As Account Executive for the Northeast Region, Kim is charged with building revenues in a territory stretching from Maine to Maryland. And while economic growth for the company is always a focus, Kim also views her position as an excellent opportunity to demonstrate to her clients how the implementation of Mapping skills into their organizational structure can help them avoid some of the pitfalls of ineffective communications. The kinds of problems that can not only impact customer satisfaction and employee morale, but also the bottom line.

"The people that I work with at IMI are hard working, intelligent, and caring. They strive at all times not only to help our organization succeed, but also to help solve the business challenges our clients are experiencing. In doing so, we are able to help our clients become more successful."

A graduate of Southern New Hampshire University where she received a Bachelor's degree in marketing, Kim first came to IMI in June of 2005 after holding several senior-level sales positions in software training and services companies, Catapult Software Training and Progressive Solutions.

It was not long after that she was introduced to Information Mapping through a recruiter. After researching the company and their philosophy, she quickly became a proponent of the Information Mapping method.

"After learning about the methodology, and understanding the business challenges of the many clients I had worked closely with over the years, I knew I would love to show organizations how the Information Mapping methodology could help them be more successful in many ways."

A native of Cicero, New York (just outside of Syracuse), Kim now resides in Groton, Massachusetts where she relishes in taking on another important role - mother to "three beautiful children" - Katelyn (13), Alexander (12), and Marianna (8). A self-described "soccer-basketball-dance mom," she loves nothing more than being actively involved in her children's many after school activities. In addition to her role as sports and dance mom, she also participates in Girl Scouts and volunteers to teach religious education to children in her community. In the rare opportunity that she finds herself with some free time of her own, she enjoys exercising, taking dance lessons and looking for newer and bigger challenges to overcome. Her next big challenge - horse back riding. And if the past is any indication, we all know she will succeed at that too!
